Motorcycle Headlight and Horn Care
- Jul 23, 2018 -

In terms of bicycle maintenance, headlights and loudspeakers are a neglected area. Here are some tips to ensure their long, trouble free operation.

Headlamp is one of the most important parts of motorcycles, though its maintenance is often neglected, mainly because of the minimum amount of care it needs. A properly functioning headlamp provides a good projection to ensure safety during night riding. Regular check of its brightness and effectiveness can help improve your reliability at night. Of course, headlamps are not the only ones on our bicycles that need to be in normal working condition. Check the tail lights, steering lights and any other lighting points of the two wheeled vehicles to ensure that everything is beautiful and bright.

Before starting cycling, wipe the headlights, indicator lights and taillights quickly. It only takes a few minutes to help improve the efficiency of the lamp. Clean headlights can help you to see clearly, and clean indicator and taillight can greatly improve your visibility of motorists.

Check your lens.

The first thing to do when checking headlights is to check the lenses: are they crystal clear, or do you see some blurring and yellowing? The headlight lens will be cloudy when used for a long time, and it will diffuse the beam of the front light, which will not only damage your sight, but also make you more difficult to see! The above is also applicable to steering lights and brake lights.

Check focus:

When you check brightness, you need to consider whether the beam is aiming well. If the brightness is not enough, replace the bulb with a stronger bulb. Ensure that the beam can diffuse as far as possible on the low light, so as to increase the visible range. Potholes are common causes of misalignment of headlights: ask your mechanic to make adjustments when repairing bicycles. If your indicator is broken, please replace them instead of beating them.

Considering the heavy traffic we face, loudspeakers are one of the most important parts of our commuting. Check if the sound is normal; see if the wires connected to the speaker are in normal condition. Check the fuse, because fuse failure is one of the most common causes of defective speakers. Weak angles are as good as flawed speakers; they replace them at the moment they lose their loudness. Wipe the horn regularly with dry cloth, because dust and rust will greatly reduce the service life.
