Honda Starts Development Of E-scooters For Indian Market

It is reported that the second big two wheel manufacturers Honda motorcycle and scooter India (HMSI) have begun developing electric scooters for the India market. This is a time when more and more attention has been paid to green technology, because the government is trying to curb the increasing pollution among cities. Minoru Kato, President and chief executive officer of HMSI, said the work on electric scooters is being carried out in Japan's headquarters. "Investment is made from India's business," Kato told TOI here. HMSI chief executive said that while Honda has global experience in the field of electric two - wheeled vehicles, it is a "struggle" to meet customer expectations when looking for a popular model in a market like India.
